Many parts of Kolkata have been flooded due to incessant rains. Flood situation in West Bengal remained critical on August 5, reported NDTV. At least 23 people have died and around three lakh people have been shifted to rescue centres, reported NDTV. MET department issued a warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall over West Bengal between August 4 and 6. Reportedly, more than 4 lakh hectares of agricultural land in these seven districts is under water now. Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee visited flood-affected areas of Howrah. Banerjee complained to Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the DVC caused the "man-made" deluge by releasing water from its dams in an unprecedented manner. Watch the video to know more.
