There has been a softening in the stand of the Chief Ministers of both the states regarding the border dispute between Assam and Mizoram. In the latest development, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, taking an initiative of goodwill, has directed to withdraw the FIR registered against Mizoram MP K Vanlalvena. This comes after Chief Minister Zoramthanga's remarks in which he had said that the border dispute with Assam should be resolved in an 'amicable' manner through talks.
