Ace weightlifter Saikhom Mirabai Chanu opened India's medals tally on Saturday as she won the silver medal in the women’s 49 kg category at Tokyo Olympics. Family and friends of the ace weightlifter celebrated her victory in Imphal. "We are very happy today. This is a result of her hard work. India and Manipur are proud of her," said Mirabai’s brother. Chanu lifted a total of 202 kg (87kg in snatch and 115kg in clean and jerk) during her four successful attempts across the competition. China's Hou Zhihui bagged gold with a total of 210 kg and created a new Olympic Record.
