Israeli company NSO's Pegasus software has created a ruckus over the alleged phone tapping of journalists. A consortium of 17 media organizations, including The Wire, has claimed that governments around the world are spying on journalists and activists. It has been claimed in this report that about 300 more authenticated phone numbers were tapped in India. This includes the numbers of many people including journalists, activists.

इजरायली (Israeli) कंपनी एनएसओ के पेगासस सॉफ्टवेयर (Spyware Pegasus) से पत्रकारों के कथित फोन टैपिंग मामले को लेकर बवाल मचा गया है. द वायर सहित 17 मीडिया संस्थानों की कंसोर्टियम ने दावा किया है कि दुनियाभर में सरकारें पत्रकारों और ऐक्टिविस्टों की जासूसी करा रही है। इस रिपोर्ट में दावा किया गया है कि भारत में करीब 300 ज्यादा प्रमाणित फोन नंबर की टैपिंग की गई. इसमें पत्रकार, एक्टिविस्ट समेत कई लोगों के नंबर शामिल है.
