जापान की राजधानी टोक्यो में 23 जुलाई से शुरू होने वाले खेलों के महाकुंभ के लिये भारतीय ओलंपिक संघ ने अपने ध्वजवाहकों का ऐलान करने के साथ ही 201 सदस्यीय दल का भी ऐलान कर दिया है। आईओए के अध्यक्ष नरिंदर बत्रा ने सोमवार को मैरी कॉम और मनप्रीत सिंह को ओलंपिक की ओपनिंग सेरेमनी के दौरान ध्वजवाहक बनाये जाने का ऐलान करते हुए बताया था कि ओलंपिक के लिये भारत से 126 खिलाड़ी भाग लेने वाले हैं। हालांकि मंगलवार को फर्राटा रेस में अपनी दिग्गज महिला स्प्रिंटर Hima Das के क्वालिफाई न करने की बुरी खबर का सामना करना पड़ा।

One of the most exciting talents in Indian athletics, Hima had sustained a hamstring injury while running 100m heats during the National Inter-State Athletics Championships last month. The 21-year-old was forced to pull out of the 100m and 4x100m relay finals due to the injury. She ran in the 200m final but finished fifth to miss out of the Tokyo Olympics.
