A National Human Rights Commission team was allegedly attacked by goons in West Bengal’s Jadavpur on June 29. The team was in the state to investigate the incidents of post-poll violence after a committee was constituted on the direction of the Calcutta High Court to look into allegations of human rights violations in the state. BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari condemned the incident. He said, “The situation here is very sensitive and now NHRC also knows it”. He also added, “This is very shameful incident for West Bengal”.
