As far as mutual funds are concerned, dividends are nothing more than a part of the profits or money of the inventors. The mutual fund does nothing but distribute the profits to investors. And when it distributes the profits, the net asset value decreases by the same amount, which clearly indicates that you have taken money out of your investments.
