The government has placed the alpha, beta, gamma and delta variants of the corona virus in the category of Variants of Concern. The reason is that these variants are more infectious and they have the potential to dodge the vaccine. However, it is a matter of relief that both the vaccines made in India, Covishield and Covaccine, are effective against all these variants. The government has claimed this. The government said on Friday that the Kovishield and Covaccine vaccines are effective against alpha, beta, gamma and delta variants of the coronavirus, while trials for the delta plus form are still underway. There are 4 variants of the corona virus – alpha, beta, gamma and delta anxiety variants, while the delta plus associated with delta is also a concern variant.

कोरोना वायरस के अल्फा, बीटा, गामा और डेल्टा वेरिएंट्स को सरकार ने चिंता वाले रूपो (Variants of Concern) की श्रेणी में रखा है। वजह यह कि ये वेरिएंट ज्यादा संक्रामक हैं और उनमें वैक्सीन को भी चकमा देने की क्षमता है। हालांकि, राहत की बात यह है कि भारत में बनी दोनों ही वैक्सीन कोविशील्ड और कोवैक्सीन इन सभी वेरिएंट्स के खिलाफ कारगर है। सरकार ने यह दावा किया है। सरकार ने शुक्रवार को कहा कि कोविशील्ड और कोवैक्सीन टीके कोरोना वायरस के अल्फा, बीटा, गामा और डेल्टा वेरिएंट्स के खिलाफ प्रभावी हैं जबकि डेल्टा प्लस स्वरूप के संबंध में परीक्षण अभी जारी है। कोरोना वायरस के 4 स्वरूप- अल्फा, बीटा, गामा और डेल्टा चिंता वाले वेरिेएंट्स हैं, जबकि डेल्टा से जुड़ा डेल्टा प्लस भी चिंता वाला वेरिएंट है। इंडियन काउंसिल फॉर मेडिकल रिसर्च (ICMR) के डायरेक्टर जनरल बलराम भार्गव ने प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस में कहा कि अलग-अलग वेरिएंट्स को समाप्त करने की टीके की क्षमताओं में कमी जरूर दिखती है। उन्होंने कहा कि भारत बायोटेक की कोवैक्सीन अल्फा वेरिएंट पर पूरी तरह प्रभावी है। उन्होंने कहा, ‘कोविशील्ड अल्फा के साथ 2.5 गुना घट जाती है। डेल्टा स्वरूप को लेकर कोवैक्सीन प्रभावी है लेकिन एंटीबॉडी प्रतिक्रिया तीन गुना तक कम हो जाती है जबकि कोविशील्ड के लिए, यह कमी दो गुना है, जबकि फाइजर और मॉडर्ना में यह कमी सात गुना है।’
