Antigua and Barbuda Prime Minister Gaston Browne said in Parliament on Tuesday that authorities investigating the alleged abduction of fugitive businessman Mehul Choksi might have some "individuals of interest" in custody.
Stating that he was not aware of "any conclusive evidence", Browne said there was information in the public domain that the fugitive diamantaire was indeed abducted and taken to Dominica, a claim made by Choksi and his battery of defence lawyers.
"Mr Speaker, I am not aware of evidence but this information is in public domain that Mehul Choksi was abducted,” he said, according to a clip of Parliamentary proceedings shared by media outlet Antigua News Room.
