In a major social inclusion drive aimed towards the transgender community, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) has launched an innovative step. To make the transgender community self reliant, the civic body handed over two prime parking lots in the city to a transgender organization, Swikruti, to collect parking fees.

The first parking lot spans from Shreeleathers Showroom to Ashoka Market with four parking spaces, while the second one is from Master Canteen Square to Sriya Chhak with 5 parking spaces. The parking fee collectors have been provided with special aprons and money bags.
