This is a village in a model panchayat. Over 200 households reside in this village. The kutcha roads get washed away in flood. Cyclonic storms cause havoc beyond repair. Residents have to walk long distances for a normal health check-up. This is Gopalpur village in Nahuni Panchayat under Rajkanika block of Kendrapada district.

It depicts the stark reality of how farther it is from development despite being a part of a model panchayat. Lack of drinking water, road for transport, and medical facilities is what describes the sad state of affairs of this village.

Responding to these complaints, the Kendrapara Sub-collector, Jyotishankar Mohapatra said that the BDO will be directed to carry out a local inquiry and take necessary steps.
