Case Filed Against Amazon For Selling Nirmalya Of Lord Jagannath

Outrage erupted against e-commerce giant Amazon after Sri Jagannath’s dry Mahaprasad also called Nirmalya was found hosted on the E-Commerce platform for sale.

Servitors of the Srimandir expressed their disappointment over the commercialization of the revered Prasad by the online shopping platform. A case was registered by Srimandir servitor Shambhunath Khuntia at the Singhadwara Police Station against the sale of Nirmalya online.

Srimandir officials also stated that no permission has been granted by the temple administration for the sale of Nirmalya online. Many devotees said that the online sale of Nirmalya has hurt their sentiments.

The servitors have expressed their displeasure citing that the Prasad of the Lord can’t be sold online in order to maintain its sanctity and avoid contamination
