Mai Hua's documentary "The Rivers" delves into painful family secrets and unsaid truths. For almost three years the Franco-Vietnamese filmmaker captured private moments with her grandmother, mother and daughter to understand how the women in her family live through trauma. We witness raw and intimate conversations as well as the near-miraculous recovery of her sick grandmother. The colour designer and blogger speaks to FRANCE 24 about her documentary.
