I feel that this is the greatest ever duet composed with enchanting music by Shankar Jai Kishan and the Great lyricist Hasrat Jaipuri must be in the greatest ever pleasant mood while penning it for the movie Badshah released in 1954 with Padeep Kumar and Mala Senha!!!

Simply the perfect music/lyrics/singing. Just observe how the word "neele" is sung at various times. In the very first line, Lata sings "neele" and "karein" for an extra micro-second long duration- makes all the difference. In "baitthain rahein hum tum..."the word "baitthain" is sung with some quivering... just pure ethereal singing. Lataji once said that Hemantda's voice gives her feeling that some saint was soulfully paying his oblation to the God in the temple.
