Novel coronavirus, which causes Covid-19, might have originated from a virus found inside a mineshaft in China, in 2012. In 2012, six miners in the mine in southwestern China’s Yunnan province became sick with a pneumonia-like illness after spending between 4-14 days removing bat feces. Three eventually died.
