Il vincitore di tappa Caleb Ewan, subito dopo l'arrivo, ha dichiarato: "Sapevo che questo poteva essere un buon finale per me. Devo ringraziare il mio team per l'eccellente lavoro di squadra fatto. Ci siamo messi davanti negli ultimi 10 km perchè volevamo prendere lo strappo finale davanti al gruppo. È stato uno sprint difficile, sentivo le mie gambe bruciare e ho dovuto dare veramente tutto per cogliere questo successo."
La Maglia Rosa Attila Valter, ha dichiarato: "Non sono stato nervoso nel pedalare in gruppo con la Maglia Rosa, anzi mi sono sentito fortunato, un corridore diverso! Mi sembrava di essere più rispettato e voglio ringraziare tutti i corridori che mi hanno fatto le congratulazioni. Abbiamo attraversato tante belle località italiane e quando sentivo la gente che tifava per la Maglia Rosa a volte non riuscivo a credere che quello che sto vivendo è tutto vero".

Speaking seconds after the stage finish, the stage winner Caleb Ewan said: “I knew it would be a good finish for me. Then it was a question of being smart and a lot of team work too. All my guys went from a long way out. We had to stay in the front for the last 10km. The start of the climbing was the most important part. It was a super hard finish and I had to go deep to win today. My legs were absolutely burning.”
The Maglia Rosa Attila Valter said: “I wasn't nervous. I felt lucky that I could enjoy my day in the Maglia Rosa. The team always kept me in the front. I felt like a different rider with the jersey. I felt very respected in the peloton and I want to thank all the riders for their congratulations. To pass through the beautiful cities of Italy with people cheering for the Maglia Rosa, I had to pinch myself to realise that it was really me.”
