Brad Stevens was interviewed postgame after the Celtics’ 125-104 loss vs the Charlotte Hornets. He talked about the Celtics’s struggles in afternoon games, the team’s overall effort, and what happened to Kemba Walker when he ran off the court.
The Celtics have been terrible in afternoon games this season. “I was hopeful that that had changed,” said Stevens. “We got outplayed, outcoached, outhustled… they were the better team today.”
Stevens also talked about the team’s overall effort in this one. Charlotte was the faster, better team and it seemed like the Celtics were always a step slow. “We were just staring at the ball,” said Stevens. “The toughest team sets the rules of the game… we were on our heels the whole night.”
Kemba Walker sprinted back to the locker room in the middle of this game. He appeared to have tweaked something around his hip area, but eventually came back into the game. “I don’t know what happened,” said Stevens. “Right when he raised his hand to challenge that shot he grimaced… he seemed fine after the game.”
