Chamoli avalanche: CM Tirath Rawat conducts aerial survey

Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Tirath Singh Rawat conducted an aerial survey of Sumna area of Joshimath Sector in Chamoli district on April 24, where an avalanche occurred yesterday due to heavy snowfall. “HM Amit Shah called us up last night. NDRF & District Administration are on the job. ITBP and BRO were informed. Rescue was done quickly. I did an aerial survey today. BRO is carrying out the operation but the connectivity remains affected,” said CM Rawat while speaking to media persons. According to Central Command of Indian Army, “291 persons have been rescued so far after a BRO Camp came under avalanche yesterday during heavy snowfall in Sumna area of Joshimath Sector in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand.”
