Electric cars are becoming increasingly popular in Europe and the US, but in Australia they still only make up 1 per cent of new car sales. Gail Broadbent researches social attitudes to electric vehicles and she says necessary infrastructure for recharging and the price of vehicles are the two main factors affecting the introduction of electric cars.
