Despite the surge in Covid-19 cases, festive gatherings are being witnessed in several parts of the country. Lakhs of devotees continue to camp in Haridwar for the world's largest religious gathering- the Mahakumbh. However, with Uttarakhand recording its biggest single-day spike in Covid cases on Thursday, at least two out of 13 Akharas have announced the end of the mega event.
