The tradition of celebrating Holi has been going on since Lord Vishnu had protected the devotee Prahlad by taking the incarnation of Narasimha. The festival of Holi is celebrated for two days. Holika Dahan is done on the first day and Holi of color is played on the second day. This time Holika Dahan will be done on Sunday, March 28. 7 works are considered extremely inauspicious on the day of Holika Dahan.

भगवान विष्णु ने जब नरसिंह का अवतार लेकर भक्त प्रह्लाद की रक्षा की थी, तब से ही होली का त्योहार मनाने की परंपरा चली आ रही है. होली का पर्व दो दिन मनाया जाता है. पहले दिन होलिका दहन किया जाता है और दूसरे दिन रंग वाली होली खेली जाती है. इस बार होलिका दहन रविवार, 28 मार्च को किया जाएगा. ज्योतिर्विद रजत शर्मा के मुताबिक, होलिका दहन के दिन 10 काम बेहद अशुभ समझे जाते हैं.
