A 31 year-old man drowned on Sunday afternoon while swimming at an abandoned quarry sand pit in Windsor Park, Couva.

He was liming at the location with friends when he got into difficulty in the water and disappeared, only to be recovered Monday morning.

A villager told reporter Cindy Raghubar-Teekersingh on Monday, the area is dangerous and restricted, but there is no signage and people often visit the pond.
