DAP Secretary-General Lim Guan Eng has questioned how the government can be functioning well when only two out of three branches of the Federal Constitution have been allowed to operate.
He said this in response to De facto Law Minister Takiyuddin Hassan who had maintained that the government is functioning well even though Parliament has been suspended through an emergency proclamation that came into force on January 11.
He added that the Yang di-Pertuan Agong has declared that the present Emergency Proclamation only deals with the Covid-19 public health crisis and does not prevent Parliament from meeting and functioning normally and failing to obey the King is a clear act of lese majeste.
