New Delhi, Mar 18: Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari on March 18 said that all physical toll booths in the country will be removed within one year, and the road tax will be collected based on GPS imaging.
“I want to assure the House within one year all physical toll booths in the country will be removed. Toll money will be collected based on GPS imaging,” Gadkari told the Lok Sabha.
The government has already eliminated physical collection of road tax at National Highways across, and the payment will be collected through FASTag which is an electronic toll collection system.
