Former Joint CP of Delhi, Karnal Singh on Monday said that the leads obtained after Batla House encounter helped in finding the Indian Mujahideen terrorists. He also appreciated Delhi court's judgement on the case. He said, "Today's verdict suggests that police carried out a correct probe and credit goes to (late) officer Mohan Chand Sharma and now DCP (Special Cell) Sanjeev Kumar Yadav. The leads after Batla House encounter helped us to find Indian Mujahideen terrorists and bust their nexus." "There is a procedure to appeal against an encounter. People should wait for its result and then comment. NHRC examined it (encounter) and called it genuine. High Court and Apex Court accepted that. People shouldn't comment against an agency without proof," he added. The sessions court, while giving the judgement on March 15, called the Batla House encounter case "rarest of rare" and pronounced death penalty to convict Ariz Khan. He was arrested in February 2018.
