The Punjab government amended the excise law on Monday and decided to make the provision of death penalty for the culprits in cases of death by drinking poisonous liquor. In July last year, many people were killed in Amritsar, Gurdaspur and Taran Taran districts due to drinking poisonous liquor, in view of which the Punjab cabinet has taken this decision

पंजाब सरकार ने आबकारी कानून में संशोधन कर जहरीली शराब पीने से मौत होने के मामलों में दोषियों के लिए मृत्यदंड का प्रावधान करने का सोमवार को फैसला लिया. पिछले साल जुलाई में अमृतसर, गुरदासपुर और तरन तारन जिलों में जहरीली शराब पीने के कारण कई लोगों की मौत हो गई थी, जिसके मद्देनजर पंजाब मंत्रिमंडल ने ये फैसला लिया है
