On Saturday (February 20), Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman gave a statement on rising fuel prices. While expressing her concern on the matter, she said that this is a serious and important issue and both the central and state governments should talk to provide fuel at the appropriate level to consumers.

पेट्रोल डीजल की बढ़ती कीमतों पर वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण ने प्रतिक्रिया दी है. उन्होंने कहा कि ये एक गंभीर मुद्दा है जिसमें कीमतें कम करने के अलावा कोई भी जवाब किसी को संतुष्ट नहीं कर सकता. केंद्र और राज्य दोनों को उपभोक्ताओं के लिए उचित स्तर पर खुदरा ईंधन मूल्य में कमी लाने के लिए बात करनी चाहिए. चेन्नई में वित्त मंत्री ने कहा कि OPEC देशों ने उत्पादन का जो अनुमान लगाया था, वो भी नीचे आने की संभावना है जो फिर से चिंता बढ़ा रहा है.
