The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 player auction is taking place in Chennai. South Africa all-rounder Chris Morris became the most expensive buy in the IPL history as he was picked up by Rajasthan Royals for a record price of Rs 16.25 crore. Australia all-rounder Glenn Maxwell also went big. A total of 292 players will go under the hammer at the auction. Punjab Kings, who recently changed their name from Kings XI Punjab, go in the auction with the biggest purse -- 53.20 crore as they look to fill in nine spots including five overseas signings. SunRisers Hyderabad have three slots to fill -- least among all eight teams.

आखिरकार ग्लेन मैक्सवेल का सपना पूरा ही हो गया. करोड़ों पैसे मिले और मन मुताबिक़ टीम भी मिली. जी हाँ, ग्लेन मैक्सवेल ने कुछ दिन पहले कहा था कि वो आरसीबी के लिए इस बार खेलना चाहते हैं. और वही हुआ. आरसीबी ने ग्लेन मैक्सवेल को नीलामी में खरीद लिया है. दिलचस्प बात ये है कि आरसीबी ने सबसे ज्यादा रकम में ग्लेन मैक्सवेल को खरीदा है. पिछली बार तो मैक्सवेल 10 करोड़ तक ही रुके थे. पर इस बार कुल उन्हें 14 करोड़ और 25 लाख में खरीदा है. फ्लॉप प्रदर्शन के बाद भी मैक्सवेल को आईपीएल में बड़ी रकम मिली है. ग्लेन मैक्सवेल के साथ पूरी आरसीबी की टीम इस समय खुश होंगी. क्योंकि उन्हें एक धाकड़ ऑलराउंडर मिला है. मैक्सवेल के लिए दो टीमों ने बोली लगाई थी. चेन्नई सुपर किंग्स और आरसीबी के बीच जंग देखने को मिली. और यही दोनों फ्रेंचाइजी लम्बे समय तक आपस में मैक्सवेल के लिए लड़ते रहे. पर बाजी आख्रिकार आरसीबी ने मारी.
