Covid entry ban leaves migrants stranded at Brazil-Peru border

About 450 migrants, mostly Haitians, have been stranded for six days as they wait to cross a guarded border bridge from Brazil to Peru. Peru has since the end of February banned the entry of travellers from Brazil, the UK and South Africa, where new coronavirus variants have been detected. The Catholic Church in Peru is calling for a solution to be found for the migrants.
