Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee yesterday launched Maa canteen project to give food at a subsidised rate of Rs.5 to the urban poor. The budgetary provision is Rs 100 crore. The canteens would be run by self-help groups with the help of the urban development and municipal affairs department. TMC hit back.
