Railway Minister Piyush Goyal told the Rajya Sabha that not a single passenger has died in a train accident in the last 22 months. Piyush Goyal said that it is our endeavor to prevent more and more train accidents, so that no one is killed. He said that the government has been focusing on repair and maintenance of the bridge for a long time.

रेल मंत्री पीयूष गोयल ने राज्‍यसभा में बताया कि पिछले 22 महीनों में ट्रेन हादसे में एक भी यात्री की मौत नहीं हुई है. पीयूष गोयल ने कहा कि हमारी कोशिश है कि ट्रेन हादसों को ज्‍यादा से ज्‍यादा रोका जा सके, जिससे किसी के भी जानमाल का नुकसान न हो. उन्‍होंने कहा कि सरकार पिछले काफी समय से पुल की मरम्मत और रखरखाव पर अपना ध्यान केंद्रित कर रही है.
