The Agriculture Minister says the strength of pepper spray is three times more than that of the most dangerous pepper produced in this country.

He said this is something the Government must consider as it examines legalising pepper spray as a non-lethal weapon for self defence.

The Minister was responding to a motion raised in the Senate by an Independent Senator calling for the legalisation of pepper spray for everyone over the age of 18.
