Jesus is the guest of Martha and Mary in Bethany. The brother of the two women, Lazarus, is travelling abroad. He is ill, and is carried home dying. The sisters then send for Jesus, who in the meantime has departed. Jesus cannot be found, and Lazarus dies. Jesus arrives in Bethany four days later. He goes to Lazarus’ tomb and raises him from the death. The Pharisees, concerned that people will follow Jesus, decide to be on the lookout and arrest Jesus when the first opportunity arises. The Easter celebration is approaching. Jesus is sure to go to Jerusalem...
