A four-alarm blaze broke out on the boardwalk in Ocean City, NJ Saturday, ravaging Playland’s Castaway Cove, billed as the area’s “oldest amusement park.
The fire began shortly before 8 am on the 1000 block of the boardwalk, and took more than two hours for dozens of firefighters braving sub-freezing temperatures to douse the raging flames — which at one point shot through the roof of the building that houses the park’s arcade and offices.
There were no reports of any injuries.
