During his homily for the 6 am Pontifical Mass, Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma pointed out that many Cebuanos and Filipinos all around the world were planning to come home to celebrate the quincentennial anniversary of Christianity in Cebu, considered the “cradle” of Christianity in the Philippines.
