Behind this staggering number are names and faces. The smile that is now only a memory, the seat forever empty at the dinner table and the room that echoes with the silence of a loved one.

भारत समेत दुनिया के कई देशों में कोरोनावायरस महामारी के खिलाफ वैक्सीनेशन का काम शुरू हो चुका है. दूसरी तरफ इस महामारी से दुनियाभर में अबतक 20 लाख लोगों की मौत हो चुकी है. इसमें सबसे ज्यादा समस्याएं गरीब देशों को आ रही है. जहां वैक्सीन पहुंचने की राह आसान नहीं दिख रही है. इसी को लेकर संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासचिव एंटोनियो गुटेरेस ने चिंता व्यक्त की है. उन्होंने कहा कि आज हम एक वैक्सीन वैक्यूम देख रहे हैं, कोरोना का टीका जल्दी से उच्च आय वाले देशों में पहुंच रहे हैं, जबकि दुनिया के सबसे गरीब लोगों के पास उनकी मदद के लिए कोई नहीं है।
