Whipping winds from a potent storm caused a dangerous situation in Normandy Park, Washington, in the late evening of Jan. 12, when a tree landed on resident Michelle Short's house. At the same time, power lines and transformers lit up the surrounding skies as the wind took out large swaths of the power grid near Seattle.
