The central government and farm unions protesting against India's new farm laws will hold their eighth round of talks today that could shape the outcome of the protracted protest which has now entered day 40. According to media reports, Union ministers Narendra Singh Tomar, Piyush Goyal and Som Prakash will present the government's side, while 40 farmer union leaders will represent farmers at the negotiation table.
