The theme of Human Rights Day 2020 is to “Recover Better - Stand Up for Human Rights”. Human Rights Day is observed by the international community every year on 10 December. It commemorates the day in 1948 the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

అంతర్జాతీయ మానవ హక్కుల దినోత్సవం డిసెంబరు 10న ప్రపంచవ్యాప్తంగా ప్రతి ఏట నిర్వహిస్తారు.మానవ హక్కుల సార్వత్రిక తీర్మానాన్ని ఐక్యరాజ్యసమితి సాధారణ సభ 1948 డిసెంబరు 10న ఆమోదించింది. ‘అంతర్జాతీయ మానవ హక్కుల దినోత్సవం’పై అన్ని సభ్య దేశాలను, సంస్థలను ఆహ్వానించి జనరల్ అసెంబ్లీ 423(ఐ) తీర్మానం ఆమోదం తెలిపింది. అప్పటి నుంచి అన్ని దేశాలూ డిసెంబర్ 10న మానవ హక్కుల దినోత్సవం పాటించడం ఆనవాయితీగా మారింది.
