When Grubhub launched, simply providing online menus was the goal, so restaurants had to hire delivery drivers themselves.But if a restaurant wanted to be available on DoorDash and use their own staff, that company didn't have a way to help them.Now, DoorDash has launched a new system to let any restaurant join their app and still use their own drivers.DoorDash estimates 120,000 restaurants use in-house delivery, and they can apply to join DoorDash using an online form.During this unprecedented time when we know that every order counts, we hope to provide restaurants with the choice and flexibility to build a permanent and sustainable online presence that works for their business, DoorDash.Grubhub and Uber Eats already allow restaurants to handle the delivery side of online ordering.So by launching Self-Delivery to the masses, DoorDash can now more easily compete with their two biggest rivals
