New Jersey requires employers and insurance carriers to report their ACA information at the state level. This information is used to ensure that taxpayers are indeed maintaining qualified coverage.

The deadlines to file with the state of New Jersey are the same as the federal ACA reporting deadlines. Recipient copies must be distributed to employees by March 2, 2021, and the deadline to file with the state is March 31, 2021. Filing organizations must be aware that filing paper forms is not permitted. The Forms 1095-B and 1095-C must be filed electronically.
