The government will consider recommending emergency declarations for the constituencies of Gerik in Perak and Bugaya in Sabah, in order to put the by-elections there on hold and help prevent the further spread of Covid-19, said de facto Law Minister Takiyuddin Hassan in the Dewan Rakyat today.

Takiyuddin said the declaration would depend on the risk assessment by the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the National Security Council (MKN).
