Thousands of Pakistanis gathered at a funeral,... defying COVID-19 restrictions on mass gatherings.
It was a funeral for a cleric,... who died just days after leading a protest against France's defense of cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad.
Local officials say at least 2-hundred thousand attended,... barely keeping social distance.
Most of them were mask-less too.
There were also some chaotic scenes witnessed,... as mourners tried to get closer to the car carrying the body.
This comes amid the country's ban on big events.
But organizers of the funeral say, the government had not told them to limit gathering.
