On 19 January 2020, PM Modi dedicated the most powerful K-9 Vajra tank to the country, prepared for the Army at Hazira L&T. Our Surat is not only the shining star of the textile and diamond business, but is also going to make a significant contribution to the country from a strategic point of view. The L&T company at Hazira, Surat is also manufacturing the most sophisticated K-9 Vajra Self-Propelled Ortillary Battle Tank.


भारतीय सेना के बेड़े में स्वदेश निर्मित अब एक और युद्धक टैंक शामिल होगा। इस वज्र टैंक को महत्वाकांक्षी योजना 'मेक इन इंडिया' के तहत सूरत एलएंडटी प्लांट में विकसित किया गया है। केंद्र द्वारा किसी निजी कंपनी को दिया गया यह सबसे बड़ा ऑर्डर माना जा रहा है। जिसके तहत एलएंडटी को भारतीय सेना के लिए 42 महीनों में टैंक के 100 यूनिट की आपूर्ति करनी है। बता दें कि, इन टैंकों को एलएंडटी साउथ कोरिया की हानवा टेकविन के साथ मिलकर बना रही है।
