दिवाली कार्तिक अमावस्या तिथि पर मनायी जाती है। इस साल 14 नवंबर को दिवाली मनायी जाएगी। दिवाली पर धन की देवी मां लक्ष्मी दिवाली वाले दिन व्यापारी अपने प्रतिष्ठानों के बही खाते, तराजू व बांट की पूजा करते हैं। इस दिन गणेश-लक्ष्मी की पूजा के साथ धन के देवता कुबेर व अपने बहीखातों की पूजा करना शुभ होता है। दिवाली के दिन से व्यापारियों का नया साल शुरू होता है। इसीलिए बहीखाता पूजन का बड़ा महत्व होता है। दिवाली वाले दिन दीप जलाना भी शुभ होता है। बहीखातों की पूजा करने से माता लक्ष्मी की कृपा बनी रहती है और उस घर में कभी दरिद्रता नहीं आती है।
