Safa and the Sports Ministry have thrown their weight behind Dr. Patrice Motsepe's candidacy for the Confederation of African Football's presidency. The 58-year-old also received support from Nigeria, Sierra Leone and Botswana Federations. Motsepe's massive appetite for football has won him admiration together with his business accumen. He will come up against incumbent Ahmad Ahmad, who is facing a FIFA ban, and Ivorian Jacques Anouma for control of African football. Elections are scheduled for the 12th of March 2021.
