Coronavirus Scare In India: Vaishno Devi Yatra Suspended, Thermal Checking At Ajmer Sharif Dargah

Jammu & Kashmir administration has suspended the yatra to Vaishno Devi Temple in the wake of rising cases of coronavirus in India. Inter-state buses, both incoming and outgoing from the state have been stopped from March 18. The devotees were asked to return to their homes as the yatra was stopped. Jammu & Kashmir recorded its first case of coronavirus on March 18. Meanwhile, the shrine of Khwaja Garib Nawab in Ajmer is open for devotees despite the deadly coronavirus outbreak. However, measures have been taken by the concerned authorities to raise awareness among the people and prevent the spread. The health ministry has made provisions for thermal checking at each entrance. Health ministry officials are also distributing hand sanitisers to the devotees entering the dargah. Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has imposed Section 144 in the entire state which prohibits the gathering of five or more persons at any place.
