The state of Maharashtra crossed a grim milestone on May 25 as the number of Coronaviruses crossed 50,000. The state also registered 58 deaths in 24 hours to take the death toll to 1,635. Mumbai, the state’s capital and the country’s financial centre crossed 30,000 Coronavirus cases including 988 deaths. Uddhav Thackeray, Chief Minister Of Maharashtra in his weekly digitally broadcast address hinted that the coronavirus lockdown in the state could go beyond May 31 – when the fourth phase of the lockdown is set to end.
