미국 대선 당일 현장 투표 시작... 사전 투표는 1억 돌파
We continue with our live updates on the six key swing states in the U.S.
Let's check on the upper mid-west where three Rust-belt states declining industrial states are located.
For that, we return to our Lee Kyung-eun.
How are things shaping up in those states?
Mok-yeon, we will be closely looking at Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania.
These are the states President Trump won in 2016, by flipping them red.
We will have to be patient waiting for they results as the haven't processed early votes in advance.
Latest polling shows Biden is ahead Trump in all three states.
In Wisconsin by more than 6 points.
In Michigan by more than 4 points.
Pennsylvania, the margin is very thin -slightly over 1 point.
Pennsylvania is the key with 20 electoral votes at stake.
It was part of the "Blue Wall" or solid Democratic ground since 1992,... before Trump smashed that in 2016.
Pennsylvania is more important for Biden than it is Trump.
Local media projects that the best path for Biden to win is to take Pennsylvania, given he appears to be slightly leading in other states.
He has some advantages here, given that Pennsylvania is the state where he born.
The twist is that initial numbers are likely to favor President Trump as more Republicans are expected to vote in person on polling day and these votes will be quicker to count.
But as mail-in ballots are factored in later, the results could potentially swing back.
That's all for now, but I will bring more updates in our next newscast.
