Amid the deployment of Indian troops in harsh winters to counter China on the Line of Actual Control (LAC), Army doctors achieved a major feat at an altitude of 16,000 feet as they successfully removed an appendix of a soldier in a dug-in at a forward surgical centre in Eastern Ladakh.

भारतीय सेना के तीन डॉक्टरों ने 16 हजार फीट की ऊंचाई पर एक जवान का इलाज कर इतिहास रचा है। डॉक्टर्स ने पूर्वी लद्दाख के फॉरवर्ड सर्जिकल सेंटर पर तैनात सैनिक का सफल ऑपरेशन कर अपेंडिक्स निकाला है। दरअसल, सैनिक को चॉपर की मदद से निकाला नहीं जा सकता था। यही कारण है कि डॉक्टर्स को इतनी ऊंचाई पर पहुंचकर सर्जरी करनी पड़ी।
